The Lower Highlands is home to one more fast-casual menu with the introduction of Maria Empanada’s latest location at 1700 Platte Street, inside a new corporate office building. From the Riverview, the Denver-grown Argentinian business will serve its baked pockets stuffed with sweet and savory ingredients.
This fourth location occupies 1,950 square feet on the ground floor of the newly built tower and was finished by Cadence Design Studio. Antique stained glass is meant to be reminiscent of high-end stylings inside cafes in Buenos Aires.
From the Platte Street kitchen, two new menu highlights will emerge, including a chicken chimichurri empanada and strawberries a la crema, a hand-folded dessert. Both were recently featured on Guy Fieri’s Food Network show, “Triple D Nation.” The Riverview location also features a full espresso bar, wine list, and beer on tap.
Last fall, Maria Empanada received a $3.5 million investment from the Colorado Impact Fund, allowing owner Lorena Cantarovici to plan as many as eight more stores for her decade-old business.
Status: Maria Empanada is now open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, until 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays at 1700 Platte Street. Find more information on the website.
