For anyone who’s done downward dog with a goat, chicken, or kitten on the mat, this brunch fundraiser also might be appealing. On Sunday, April 29, Hotel Teatro is hosting a puppy brunch to support Lifeline Puppy Rescue.
The Colorado no-kill shelter will bring puppies to the dog-friendly downtown hotel that day. Guests, passersby, and brunch-goers can donate $5 to the cause, play with those puppies, and then receive a free mimosa at the hotel’s Nickel restaurant. Diners should be advised not to dress their own dogs for brunch, though; it’s Puppy Rescue puppies only.
This isn’t the first pet-dining combination to hit Denver. Berkeley’s cat cafe, the Denver Cat Company, combines the smells and relaxation qualities of (adoptable) cats with coffee and pastries. And the new Lazy Dog Restaurant in Westminster provides a special dogs’ menu on its outdoor patio.
The puppies will be inside Hotel Teatro, at 14th and Arapahoe, from 10:30 to 1:30 on April 29. And to work up that brunch appetite:
