QUIRKY COMBO NEWS: Chef Kelly Whitaker has a lot on his plate this season with the highly anticipated opening of his Denver restaurant The Wolf’s Tailor. But he’ll also open a new cafe in Boulder this summer, 5280 announced Tuesday. Dry Storage is a collaboration with Boulder-based Fortuna Chocolate. Located in the Peloton West complex next door to Whitaker’s Basta, it will be a cafe, event space, and bulk grain bar, with a liquor license. Fans can expect morning coffee and pastries, a chocolate “cocktail” bar, fresh-ground polenta as well as quinoa and farro flour to buy in bulk, and then pop-ups and classes. [5280]

LOWRY NEWS: Officers Club, a new restaurant and cocktail bar, is coming to Lowry on June 13, courtesy the team behind nearby North County. Westword reports that Officers Club will open in the former home of Masterpiece Kitchen at 84 Rampart Way. It will nod to the neighborhood’s military history and offer elevated regional American comfort foods — ribs, burgers, crab cakes, and biscuits — as well as classic cocktails. [Westword]

END OF A BEAR BAR NEWS: The Wrangler will close its doors on June 25 after more than two decades in Denver. The popular “bear” bar will shutter for good at Downing Street and East 31st Avenue, its second Denver location, The Know reports. Prior to closing, the Wrangler will host a Pride event on June 17 as well as a last-night, June 24 “beer bust” party. While a longstanding part of Denver’s LGBTQ scene, Wrangler has also faced charges of discrimination against women and effeminate men, according to The Post. [The Know]
