Death & Co’s Rooftop Starts Chilling Rosé Magnums Friday

The new drinking space at The Ramble Hotel opens in time for summer

The Ramble Hotel’s 100-person rooftop garden opens Friday afternoon to the public

For anyone who has had any trouble snagging a bar spot at the brand new Death & Company Denver, its RiNo rooftop should offer some reprieve. Opening to the public Friday afternoon, this second-story “garden” patio at The Ramble Hotel will serve different drinks than its lobby counterpart, including bottled cocktails, tropical cocktails, and, yes, 1.5-liter rosé bottles.

Death and Co beverage director Tyson Buhler has created a dozen new drinks for the brand’s first outdoor space. He won’t go as far as to call them tiki cocktails, but they are mixes that would be “kind of cheeky” for the company’s first bar in New York or even for its second one downstairs in The Ramble’s jewel box of a lobby. There is a Mai Tai; it’s made with white rum, Campari, and raspberry eau de vie. Crooked Stave’s sour rosé is included in the summer beer lineup. Cava and Lambrusco make up the bubbles. And a pineapple and mezcal michelada is one of four mixed classics.

Rooftop snacks and brunch by chef Wes Hamilton are forthcoming, but at least a lobby late-night food menu, from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., starts serving as well this weekend.

Status: The Garden opens from 4 to 11 p.m. this Friday and Saturday and from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday. Starting next week, normal business hours will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays.
