Only in Colorado would a climbing gym, food truck park, beer bar, and concert space come together under one warehouse roof and across 12,000 square feet of outdoor patio. By the owners of Boulder’s Rayback Collective comes Improper City in RiNo. The combination fitness and community center is planning a grand opening for July 13 at 3201 Walnut Street.
Improper City will open seven days a week from early morning to midnight (or 10 p.m. Sundays), with five different food trucks serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a bar that transitions from early coffee to wine, beer, and cocktails. Dogs will be allowed on the patio, which is filled with fire pits and a turf area for lounging. Inside will be a music venue and event space for up to 150 people, as well as lofted mezzanine seating. Next door, Movement Climbing + Fitness is a 40,000-square-foot bouldering, yoga, and workout gym. The whole concept promises to be a co-working spot by day and casual party come evening.
This new hybrid entertainment space arrives on the heels of RiNo’s latest liquor tasting room pop-up, located just down the street. By next summer, also in the neighborhood, a three-block market hall and music venue should open at the North Wynkoop development.
