Just past the halfway point of summer and Denver’s weather — and its citizens — are still in the full swing of the season. Here are a few events where Coloradans can celebrate in August:
Denver Brunch Fest
When: Sunday, August 12 starting at 11 a.m.
Where: Civic Center Park, Bannock Street between 14th and Colfax
What: The ultimate Sunday Funday should pack enough bacon and eggs to satisfy the stomach of Ron Swanson — plus bottomless drinks that promise to pack more punch than a bottle of Snake Juice. Local restaurants such as 12 @ Madison, LOW Country Kitchen, Morning Collective, and nearly 20 more will prepare delectable brunch dishes in support of Minds Matter of Denver, a local nonprofit.

Tacolandia
When: Sunday, August 19 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Where: Civic Center Park, Denver
What: The third annual Tacolandia features unlimited tacos from 40-plus Colorado taquerias, such as Lola Coastal Mexican, Contreras Panaderia y Taqueria, and Chuey FUs, alongside cocktails, beer, and live music.

Tour de Fat Denver
When: Saturday, August 25
Where: Sculpture Park, Denver
What: At the annual Tour de Fat, locals don their craziest costumes and hop on their bikes for a day of dancing and drinking.

Denver Food + Wine Festival
When: Tuesday, September 4 through Sunday, September 9
Where: Pepsi Center, Denver
What: The multi-day food and wine extravaganza pairs some of Denver’s best chefs with an array of exceptional wines and spirits. Featured events include the Shakedown, a cocktail contest, and the Grand Tasting, which offers bites from 40-plus restaurants and 700 wines and spirits.

Vail Oktoberfest
When: Friday, September 7 through Sunday, September 9
Where: Lionshead, Vail Village
What: Embrace the sound of oompah music and the clash of kegs at the annual mountain celebration. The family-friendly, free festival includes Bavarian bites and eating contests, a stein lifting contest, dancing, yodeling, and plenty of beer.

Grandoozy
When: Friday, September 14 through Sunday, September 16
Where: Overland Park
What: Denver’s first three-day music and food festival comes courtesy of the organizers behind Bonnaroo and Outside Lands. Festival-goers can indulge at the “Devour Denver” with creations from heavy-hitters such as James Beard Award-winning chef Jennifer Jasinski, Carrie Baird of Bar Dough, and Tommy Lee of Hop Alley and Uncle. There will also be an “Arts & Crafts” craft beer experience with brews from Denver Beer Company, Ratio Beerworks, Oskar Blues, and other local favorites. At the “Flight School,” guests can learn more about some of the best whiskeys Colorado has to offer.
