Currently quizzing potential hires if they are “too gouda to be true?” national franchise Tom + Chee will debut its second Colorado location this summer, moving into a former TCBY store at Loveland’s 34 Marketplace retail center.
First launched in Fort Collins in 2015, the new space at 1431 N. Denver Ave. takes over 1,400 square feet, next door to Garlic Jim’s and a short walk from Smashburger.
The restaurant gets its name for its devotion to the comfort food classic grilled cheese and tomato soup. The menu includes versions of the sandwich prepared with turkey, bacon, cucumber ranch, chicken, Swiss cheese, or mushrooms and garlic.
Customers can also create their own version, choosing a preferred type of cheese, bread and fillings and toppings. Soups include a creamy tomato basil and a beer cheese cup or bowl.
For dessert, the brand’s famous grilled cheese doughnuts come with mild cheddar and a glazed doughnut that can be upgraded to the S’more, peanut butter cup, or “bananarama” variants.
