Voodoo debuts the Cannolo

Voodoo Doughnut’s newest creation takes inspiration from another beloved bakery treat: the cannoli.

On Wednesday, the colorful doughnut chain announced it is now selling a new treat called the Cannolo at its Denver stores. The Cannolo consists of a raised yeast donut that has been rolled into a tube and filled with cream cheese. Voodoo’s Cannolos come filled with either almond, raspberry, or (of course) pumpkin cream cheese.

Kolaches coming to Colfax

Denver has many destinations for donuts. Now the city is getting a new spot dedicated to their fruit-filled Czech cousins.

BusinessDen reports Lakewood’s Kolache House Bakery is planning to soon open a second store along East Colfax Avenue in Montclair. According to the business news site, signs are already up at the new location at 1475 Ivy Street.

The original Kolache House Bakery, which is located near the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and Kipling Street, serves kolaches filled with fruit toppings, including strawberry, cherry, lemon, and apricot varieties. There are also savory kolaches available with fillings such as egg, bacon, cheese, and beef and cabbage.

BusinessDen reports the new location is expected to open within the next month. [BusinessDen]
