Burgers made with bacon are coming to RiNo next year
A California-based restaurant chain specializing in burgers that are half-beef and half-bacon is bringing its first Colorado location to RiNo next year, BusinessDen reports.
The business news website reports Slater’s 50/50 will open in a 5,200-square-foot space on the ground floor of the Hub, a new eight-floor office building.
The restaurant will be owned by Charlie Murray, who left a career in investing to pursue opening franchise restaurants. Murray told BusinessDen he is hoping to open four to five more Slater’s 50/50 locations in Colorado over the next few years.
In addition to burgers, Slater’s is known for its unique milkshakes, which are made with decadent toppings like lollipops, Twinkies and candy. The existing restaurants also serve sandwiches, wings, flatbreads, salads, and a pasta made with meatballs made from bacon and beef. Each restaurant also features a full-bar and is stocked only with local beer.
Murray is targeting a May opening for the restaurant. [BusinessDen]
A new hotel bar opens Friday downtown
The area around the Denver Convention Center will gain another option for cocktails on Friday when the Tempo Bar opens this week inside Hilton’s new two-brands-in-one downtown hotel.
The new bar is located on the ground floor of the new Tru by Hilton Denver Downtown Convention Center and Home2 Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown Convention Center hotels, which will occupy separate spaces within a single building at 801 15th Street.
According to a press release, the bar space includes garage doors that open up onto 15th Street as well as shuffleboard tables and local art. Tempo will also offer small bites and larger plates along with its full bar. The bar opens along with the hotel on Friday.
