Pizzaiolo Thomas Garnick has been eager to introduce his Neapolitan-inspired pizzas to Park Hill since last summer, but a recent push to renovate a former movie theater at 2245 Kearney Street finally suggests wood-fired pies will be heading to the neighborhood soon.

Expanding from his current base inside the Avanti Food & Beverage LoHi food hall, Garnick’s Brava! Pizzeria Della Strada will take over a front section of the long vacant, 11,279-square-foot Tower Theater.

Joining fellow tenant Park Hill Dance Academy, the mixed-use building sits a short distance from the seasonal menu of Tables and Italian dishes of Oblio’s Pizzeria.

Idaho-based distillery and restaurant Bardenay had originally hoped to take over the entire structure, until local concerns regarding potential traffic congestion surrounding the 200-seat project led the owners to withdraw.

Brava! Pizzeria has been steadily filing construction permits since January and will discover the fate of its liquor license application on April 29.

Yet to reveal a menu for its new home, on Pecos Street guests can enjoy the acclaimed roster of pizzas, plus anti pasti, insalate, dolci and sit and people watch with a cortado, macchiato or cappuccino.
