Marcella’s Ristorante, Pizzeria & Wine Bar, the Italian restaurant that opened in LoHi in October 2017, bows out after 19 months. The Ohio-based restaurant from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, which operates two Denver-area Ocean Prime restaurants, closes after service on May 13.
The Denver Post reports that the restaurant “wasn’t performing well enough to continue operating.” Employees can transfer to other restaurants owned by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants.
The 152-seat restaurant features room for another 40 on the patio. The menu features dishes such as a braised veal meatball with tomato sauce; a melted pecorino with crostini, apple and truffle honey; a Margherita D.O.C. pizza; lasagne alla Bolognese with a sausage ragu and marinara; chicken marsala; and a chocolate almond cake.
Also closing, Park Hill’s Hinman’s Bakery, at 4850 E. 39th Ave. The Denver Post reports that the bakery announced that the location closed on Friday “due to construction.” The bakery plans to continue its wholesale business.
