Tamayo, the Larimar Square Mexican restaurant from Richard Sandoval, now has tacos served table side. The taquiza, or taco party, rolls right up to the table with meats grilled on the trolley.
The experience, available to groups of four or more, starts with a traditional take that features grilled skirt steak, beef cecina, Mexican chorizo, asadero cheese, grilled nopales, charred spring onions, jalapeño, house tortillas, table side molcajete salsa, and traditional garnishments.
Diners can up the dinner with a premium taquiza experience with grilled Angus New York Strip, shrimp, Mexican chorizo, asadero cheese, grilled nopales, charred spring onions, jalapeño, house tortillas, table side molcajete salsa, and traditional garnishments.
Sandoval opened Tamayo, his first restaurant in Colorado, in 2001 on the corner of 14th and Larimer Street with a rooftop deck. The self-annoited “Father of Modern Mexican Cuisine” grew up in Acapulco before opening his first restaurant in New York City in 1997. His restaurant operations are based in Denver.
