American Grind, the burger and sandwich restaurant that opened at Avanti Food & Beverage in 2017, graduates to its own restaurant space in June at 431 E. Bayaud Ave., and that means the food hall has room for a new restaurant.
Food truck Chicken Rebel brings fried chicken sandwiches, salads, and tater tots for a pop-up from early June through September. The food truck got its start in San Diego and came to Denver in July 2017. In addition to the pop-up at Avanti, Chicken Rebel will keep its food truck running and is still planning to open a full restaurant at the end of the summer next to Mythology Distillery in LoHi.
Chicken Rebel plans to offer chicken and waffles, chicken and vegetarian salads, Nashville hot chicken street tacos, and vegetarian fried chick n’ options. Everything on the menu will be under $15.
Chicken Rebel will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
