Gelato Boy, the outpost of the Boulder gelato shop located inside of RiNo’s Zeppelin Station food hall, has closed after roughly 16 months of business.

Justin Croft, the vice president of development for the Zeppelin Development firm behind the food hall, confirmed to Eater the gelato shop closed at the end of July. He said the firm is looking forward to announcing a new concept for the former Gelato Boy space in the coming weeks.

However, lovers of Gelato Boy’s creamy conceptions will only need to travel to Boulder to get their fix of such flavors as Orange Creamsicle and Mango Margarita. That's where they’ll find the remaining Gelato Boy locations on west and east Pearl Street at 1021 and 1433 Pearl Street respectively. Pints of Gelato Boy gelato can also be ordered on the Gelato Boy website for delivery or in-store pick up.

Gelato Boy began almost 12 years ago as a wholesale gelato company called Fior de Latte. The company changed its name to Fior Gelato around the time that it opened Gelato Boy at Zeppelin Station and has since adopted the Gelato Boy name for the entire business, including the Boulder scoop shops.

The closure of Gelato Boy is the latest change to arrive at Zeppelin Station in recent weeks following the recent opening of Norm’s Deli and Al Pastor taqueria La Doña earlier this summer.
