Diner Demolition
The iconic Colfax building that has housed Tom’s Diner for the last 20 years can now be freely demolished after a group of five Denver residents withdrew their application asking the city to make the building a historic owner. Tom Messina, the diner’s founder and owner, has a plan in place to sell the diner and surrounding parking lots to a development firm. Messina had previously indicated he would close the diner regardless of the outcome of the application to preserve the building. [Denver Post]
