A Harry Potter-inspired brunch pop up is aparating into Denver this weekend
This weekend, the Exdo Event Center at 1399 35th Street in RiNo will be transformed into a sort of replica of Hogwarts’ Great Hall as the The Wizard’s Brunch and Dinner pop-up event makes a three-day stop in Denver.
The ticket page for the event invites potential attendees to step into a magical world where they will be seated on long tables to enjoy a magical feast and fine wizard liquids. The event offers a brunch seating from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a dinner seating from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
However, tickets are now extremely limited with only tickets for the Saturday Brunch ($135) and Sunday dinner ($150) remaining.
Each ticket includes a three course meal plus the event’s entertainment, which the page suggests will include magic demonstrations and potions making. There will be a cash bar on-site and attendees also have the option of purchasing a beverage package that includes beer, wines and spirits.
Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to dress up for the event. Though copyright restrictions from referencing the Harry Potter series directly, photos from past brunches in other cities suggest that it is undoubtedly the inspiration.
Original Biju’s in RiNo to close
The original location of Biju’s Little Curry Shop, a member of the Eater 38, will close sometime in October after the restaurant’s owner decided not to renew its lease, Westword reports.
Chef Biju Thomas, the restaurant’s founder, told the alt weekly the small kitchen and lack of a full bar at the original location at 1441 26th St were no longer meeting the restaurant’s needs while ongoing construction around the restaurant was also presenting a challenge. Biju’s will now be open only from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday until it closes.
However, Biju’s South Indian cuisine will still live on at its locations in Berkeley at 4279 Tennyson Street and inside the Broadway Market food hall at 950 Broadway. [Westword]
