One might assume that the residents of a city as health and fitness-obsessed as Denver would have little to no interest in the carb- and sugar-laden delicacies that only a good old-fashioned bakery can provide. But if the Mile High City’s rapidly expanding selection of such establishments (hello Tokyo Premium Bakery and Le France) is any indication, that seemingly wise hypothesis could scarcely be more wrong.

Indeed, whether your tastes run toward flaky croissants, colorful cakes, or simple but mouthwatering bread loaves, these 17 bakeries are more than capable of satiating even the most severe sweet tooths and carb cravings. Because lets face it, we all need a little bit of homemade, baked goodness from time to time.
