Waffles have long been a sweet morning treat for the weekend (and weekday) brunch crowd. But take that morning fare a step further by adding fried chicken and either sweet maple syrup or a hearty gravy and somehow you've got the perfect bite for any time of day. And although the exact origins of the waffle or even chicken and waffles is still left unknown, there sure are enough theories to satisfy all your historical inquiry needs.
