Call to Arms brewery hosts a Catalina Wine Mixer, complete with taps from Cellar West Brewing Co., TRVE Brewing Co., and Westbound & Down Brewery. The event will pay homage to different brewing techniques and the modern classic “Step Brothers”; the tapping begins at 12 p.m. on Thursday.

Hops & Pie honors the Great American Beer Festival from Thursday, September 20 throughout Saturday, September 22. Thursday features multiple beers and blends from Casey Brewing & Blending; on Friday, California brewers will share the Hops & Pie spotlight before the restaurant wraps up on Saturday with brews from eight different GABF breweries.

Black Shirt Brewing celebrates citra beers on Friday, September 21. The CITRAfest tap takeover features eight beers to help guests explore how the hop shines across a variety of styles. The evening will highlight Colorado beers alongside hoppy brews from California, Oregon, and Washington. Pours start at 6 p.m. and will run until 11 p.m.

The popular southern-style restaurant hosts a beer can dinner each night of the Great American Beer Festival. A $65 ticket gets duos an appetizer, main course, two sides, and optional beer pairings. Dinner concludes with chocolate stout cupcakes.

Avanti F + B dives into the Great American Beer Festival on both Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday’s kickoff party includes tasters from four local favorites: Ratio, Outer Range, New Image, and Elevation, while Thursday brings a karaoke night punctuated with special Dogfish Head brews.

The third annual Can-Wood Derby starts at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18. The free event supplies partygoers with all the supplies they need to create their own can-wood car. Before the race, racers can gain some liquid courage at happy hour and pre-GABF tastings.

The Union Station whiskey joint embraces beer while the Great American Beer Festival is in town. On Wednesday, September 19, Hearth & Dram will partner with with San Diego’s Green Flash Brewing for a four-course paired dinner featuring a wild salmon tataki and scallop poke.

Both Thirsty Lion locations are offering legacy flights, packed with winners from previous Great American Beer Festivals, including Dry Dock’s 2012 winning apricot blonde and Telluride Brewing’s Face Down Brown from 2014. The Legacy Flight is available from September 1 through 30.

Breweries united by the common goal of using local ingredients gather at the Museum of Contemporary Art in LoDo on Saturday, September 22, for a rooftop tasting. Local favorites include Goldspot Brewing Company, Our Mutual Friend, and TRVE Brewing. Tickets start at $30.

For only $5, beer enthusiasts can get rides to Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery, Woods Boss Brewing, Spangalang Brewing, Baere Brewing, and the Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project during the afternoon of September 20. Tickets available at participating breweries only.

The Cherry Creek hotel celebrates the launch of the multi-day festival with Pug Ryan’s Brewing and a party on Thursday, September 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. Guests can bring their pup, sip on Brut IPA and Pug Ryan’s Pilsner, and snag swag.
