Moving up in the culinary world from health-food fallback to centerstage staple, the grain bowl has made a big, bow-ld appearance at area restaurants, from grab-and-go quick serve spots to trendy eateries. The reality is that it is the bowls more than the grains that are trending in the Mile High City and throughout the country but being that we are still in January, and we're all trying to live up to our resolutions, a healthy  and still hearty replacement to say a noodle bowl is in order.

Using a base of rice, quinoa, faro and embellished with an eclectic range of preparations and toppings, grain bowls easily act as a full meal, with high quality, nourishing ingredients and influences from all over the culinary map from the south to Greece and India. Some of these are vegan, some are highly customizable, and all of them promise to hit the spot for a mid-day meal.
