Denver's Ultimate Guide To New Year's Eve, LoDo and Downtown Edition

Today begins Eater's countdown to New Year's Eve with the Ultimate Guide to 2014 dinners and celebrations. Many of Denver's restaurants are rolling out specialty menus on NYE and for the winter season, which we'll cover next week, but in the meantime these special dinners were created with New Year's Eve in mind.

From an Alice and Wonderland-themed feast to multiple champagne toasts, with courses like poached pears, kangaroo, and oyster shooters— these are the nine standout dinners that can be found in LoDo and Downtown. Book reservations now, as seats are going fast.

Elway's Downtown at the Ritz Carlton is offering a special NYE dinner menu that begins at 5 p.m. The cost is $75 per person, and the menu includes guests' choice of appetizers and main courses, as well as a dessert bar. Call 303.312.3107 for reservations.

Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar

Opening at 5 p.m., Jax Denver will serve a seven-course prix fixe menu for $85 per person and offer wine pairings for $25 or $40. Menu highlights include butter poached lobster tail, smoked black cod, seared duck breast, caviar, Colorado trout, king crab, foie gras torchon, and cloudberry jam and brown butter crepes.

The Kitchen Denver

Ring in 2014 with a four-course prix fixe menu with a full seafood bar. Cost of dinner is $75 per person, including a champagne toast at midnight. Full service goes until 10:30 p.m. and the bar is open until midnight. The Kitchen will take reservations and walk-ins on NYE.

The New Years options at Coohills range from an early seated dinner for $75, a late seated dinner for $115, or a la carte bar seating for $40 per person.
