It has been a summer packed full with new restaurant openings and the wave is still strong. Denver's hottest restaurants bring a wide range of options for dining from casual joints to ethnic ones and special occasions ones. Often Eater gets this question: Where should I go for a drink right now? Where should I dine this week?

What's new, what's hot, where do the crowds flock to? That is what the September Heatmap is all about - this dining and drinking moment in time.

Set on the mezzanine level of Union Station overlooking the Great Hall, this sleek and comfortable lounge is almost hidden from sight. The cocktails are thoughtful, the wine list intriguing, and the seafood cart (provided by Stoic & Genuine) irresistible.

With a stunning interior and a creative seafood menu, this new venture from chef Jennifer Jasinski and partner Beth Gruitch is a winner. Don't miss the lobster roll, the broccoli salad, and the granitas.
The wood-fired modern American cooking and the elevated craft cocktail program at Acorn gained the restaurant many accolades. Recently named among Bon Appetit's best 50 new restaurants in the country, the RiNo eatery still draws large crowds for both lunch and dinner.

The menu is small and smart, the space intimate and vibrant, and the pizzas may be the best in Denver. Go in with an open mind and enjoy the Cart Driver pie, fresh oysters, and the vanilla soft serve.

A square meal, a stiff drink, a fair price is the motto at the new RiNo restaurant Work & Class. With an extensive rotisserie-based menu, the restaurant features comfort food, peppered at times with Mexican influences brought by chef/owner Dana Rodriguez.

This new gastropub opened its doors in Uptown with great reception. Cocktails are appealing and unique, the selection of whiskys impressive, and the food created by chef John Broening a great bet.

The Highland went crazy for restaurateur Frank Bonanno's new sandwich shop as soon as it opened. Crowd pleasers are the egg salad sandwich and the Frankie.
The quaint wine bar and eatery that occupies what was briefly home to the Beehive has already attracted a great number of fans. Curated by owner Emily Gold, the wine list is thoughtful and the bites served by chef Salvatore Proia are well-paired.

This eclectic yet approachable restaurant that opened in North City Park has quietly but swiftly acquired a loyal following. In a softy light dining room, chef Peter Ryan serves dishes grounded in classic French and Italian cuisine.

Chef Royce Oliveira opened this quaint bistro in March and with it he created an oasis of Parisian dining on East Colfax. The space is small, the food deceptively simple, and the atmosphere irresistible. Beware that the eatery is on vacation until July 9.
