Vine Street Pub & Brewery
This City Park establishment celebrates its seventh anniversary this Saturday May 16. The pub will be hosting a neighborhood block party with live music from Starlight Squires, five dollar deals on bratwursts and burgers, and a firkin of a special release India brown ale. Vine Street is also known for their beloved mainstay beers such as hop-forward XXX Pale Ale, piney FYIPA, and the slightly caffeinated Java Porter. The best part of their anniversary party this weekend? All proceeds benefit Project Angel Heart.

Crooked Stave @ The Source
Your favorite sour specialty brewery is hosting events all week long. Kicking off the festivities on Tuesday May 12 with Tap-it Tuesday, Crooked Stave is pouring up a very special beer in its chic taproom at the Source: Batch 100, brewed with centennial kumquats and hops. Wednesday and Thursday feature special release beers from Crooked Stave including the Cuvee de Cobbler, a golden sour aged with peaches, vanilla bean, cinnamon, and nutmeg. On Friday, there will be a tapping of all of the collaboration brews Crooked Stave has done with other breweries in honor of American Craft Beer Week. And don't miss out on a chance to educate yourself. On Friday May 15 Patrick Dawson, author of Vintage Beer, is hosting a seminar on cellaring in the taproom, and on Wednesday May 14 beer drinkers can attend Beer School with Crooked Stave at the World of Beer LoDo at 5:30.

Hops & Pie
With an impressive and constantly rotating beer list and top notch pizza, Hops & Pie is the place to drink this week in Berkeley. The current tap list features rare and notable beers such as Or Xata from the Bruery, Maracuya from Horse & Dragon, Ozo Coffee Brown from Upslope, Citra Sunshine Slacker from Evil Twin, and 5 O'Clock Shadow from Grand Teton. This list is subject to change before you find yourself at Hops & Pie, but fear not. There is guaranteed to be equally as remarkable beers on deck and always beautiful food options. This week's artisan sandwich has house-made tasso, fried green tomatoes, garlic aioli, a sweet corn and pecan pesto, and baby arugula on a griddled house roll. May's artisan pie of the month is a chicken and waffle pie with sweet potato puree, fried chicken, bacon roasted brussels sprouts, waffles, aged white cheddar, and maple bourbon gravy.

Star Bar
Divey and unassuming, Star Bar has one of the best tap lists in the city, hands down. Right now, the lineup features Anderson Valley's Holy Gose, Boulevard's Spring Belle, Fate's watermelon kolsch, Ska's Mexican Logger, and AleSmith's IPA. They open two hours before all ball games this season and feature some weekly events worth going to. Star Bar is the place to be on Wednesday nights throughout the summer for the weekly movie night on the quaint back patio.

River North Brewery
River North Brewery will soon be saying a heartfelt goodbye to the current location. This means you've got limited time to enjoy a Belgian-inspired beer in the Blake Street taproom and this week is a perfect opportunity for that. With an exemplary barrel aging program, you can expect great things from River North in the next few months.

Historians Ale House
The South Broadway hood is a little more beer savvy thanks to Historian's Ale House. With the epic rooftop patio, forty beers on tap, eighty percent of which are Colorado beers, and a killer happy hour and weekly specials, it's become a favorite watering hole in the neighborhood. Each month, Historian's features a brewery of the month, promoting a local Colorado brewery beyond the taproom. This month's brewery of the month is Crow Hop out of Loveland. Crow Hop recently released four different versions of session ales and have been hard at work on a sour program. A sour strawberry kiwi IPA is the first of the sour series to be released by this Loveland spot. Also at Historian's this week and every week is the $5.95 cheeseburger, fries, and a beer special. Another promotion that sets Historian's apart is the incredibly entertaining Battle of the Breweries event. On Thursday May 14: Twisted Pine v. Platte Park. The first keg to kick marks the winner.
