Where to Eat Soft Pretzels in Denver During Oktoberfest

Prost!

View as Map

Denver may be a long way from Munich, but the Mile High City has never let that fact get in the way of its enjoyment of a good time (or a good beer). So as the official Bavarian Oktoberfest officially gets underway this weekend, so too will major celebrations in LoDo, RiNo, and other Front Range communities extending from Longmont to Highlands Ranch.

But as anyone who has ever attended an Oktoberfest celebration surely knows, all that beer drinking eventually requires a hearty-yet-salty snack to soak up the booze.

Enter the soft pretzel, a Germandelicacy and must-have at any Deutsch celebration since monks began cooking them up during the Middle-Ages (the twist supposedly represents praying hands and you’ll likely feel your prayers have been answered when you bit into one).

While all of the local celebrations will surely be serving up plenty of pretzels, there are several Denver restaurants that also turn out a mean twist not just during Oktoberfest but year-around. Here is a look at where to find the best pretzels in Denver, whether your tastes run toward the huge and highly salted, the hard and harty, or merely the heavily-cheese sauced.
