Bûche de Noël, known better perhaps by the name of yule log cake, is a traditional French dessert served during the Christmas season. Traditionally, it is made from a genoise or other sponge caked and baked in a Swiss roll pan. It is then frosted, rolled into a cylinder, and frosted again for good measure.
We dug up the bakeries and restaurants in Denver who are baking this decadent goodie this holiday season. While it's most commonly made with yellow sponge cake and filled/frosted with chocolate buttercream, some of these places really put their own spin on this classic French dessert. Bon appétit!
